No doubt Pizza is the sole purpose of life for many of us. Whether you’re having a crappy day at college or burning your midnight fuels for assignments and midterms, pizzas stick with us through every hardship in our lives. And when it’s time for celebration – We have more pizzas. With extra cheese of course.

Every year on 9th February we celebrate Pizza Day by honouring the God of all foods and having more pizzas! (Do I have to say it one more time?) Believed to be first invented by Raffaele Esposito of Naples, the first pizzeria called Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba started in 1830 in Naples and became a huge success, soon after which pizzas became so popular that hundreds of their variants are made worldwide. Today I’ll be giving you 13 Facts that you didn’t know about this mouth-watering delicacy and while doing this you can have your favourite pizza. Duh!

  1. United States is the top consumer of pizzas and has among all their restaurants 18% are pizzerias.

  2. Each year a single person consumes 23 pounds of pizza in the States and you bet that skinny looking girl walking down the streets consumes even more than that.

  3. The most popular pizza is obviously – Pepperoni.

  5. In the city of New York you get a 1000$ pizza which by the way you have to order a day before. What kind of a pizza would that be?
