PV Sindhu has been making the news for quite some time now for her Rio Olympics win and her nail-biting final match with Japanese rival Okuhara in the World Championship. This match has been rated as the best and the most nail-biting match in the history of Badminton. She had to settle for silver but has recently got her revenge from Okuhara at the Korea Open. The story of Indian Women’s Cricket Team is yet another enthralling story of the capability and hard work of women. Mr. Nirmala Sitharaman has also been in news for breaking the stereotypes and becoming the second woman Defence Minister of India after Indira Gandhi.

Despite several initiatives made by the Society for Women Empowerment, there are still many young women out there whose talent stands unrecognized or stifled. The situation, no doubt, has improved and we have come a long distance, however, there is still a long road ahead.

A Student Organisation at LPU, “Pahal an initiation” is organizing an event “Bitiya.” This will be a Talk Show as a part of a mass movement to spread the importance of a society with Empowered Women. Everyone is invited to the show and become the change which society needs.
