Happiness is all that matters to them…

Who says they don’t dream? Then again, maybe they don’t. Maybe if they had a belly full of food they would sleep sounder and dream better.

These kids are not born to work at highway motels, to collect garbage, and to beg to feed their families. They too will only be children once, the tedium of grown up life will be upon them far earlier than it should be. They deserve their time in the sun – carefree and unburdened.

But then again, that is my adult perspective. For the image shows a group of obviously underprivileged children, bonding together in the undefeated spirit that is childhood. Happiness is all that matters to them, and they find it in a few quiet minutes of play.
