Two National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer-students of Lovely Professional University have been selected to take part in the Republic Day Parade 2017, to be held at India Gate in New Delhi, on January 26th.
The selected students are Anjli Bhagat (M.Sc. Zoology II yr) and Nehal Agrawal (B.Tech. CSC III yr). They have been selected on the basis of their overall performance at parade, cultural activities, proficiency at debating different social issues, and the ability to showcase the culture of their state.
In all, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India) has selected only 200 student-volunteers among thousands of students from 5-zones across India. These volunteers will be split in two groups. Of these, one will take part in prestigious parade at Rajpath – Vijay Chowk to India Gate on 26th January 2017. They will parade along with the Military, Navy, Air Force, and other Para -Military forces. The second group will present cultural performances at prestigious venues like the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Prime Minister’s house, and other important places.
