LPU students’ Ad-film ‘DoCoMo-Do the New’ awarded the ‘Best Advertisement’ in the students’ category.

India’s most prestigious film festival-Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival recognizes the enlightening, entertaining, and progressive new age cinema created by youth and experienced filmmakers every year.  This year, six students of Lovely Professional University have been honoured at its 6th session for their ad-film ‘DoCoMo-Do the New’. This ad-film has been awarded as the ‘Best Advertisement’ over entries from across India and 45 countries, in the students’ category. The Ad film was produced by Hocus Focus Films, a created by LPU students on the campus.

The award winning students are from the B.Sc II Year program of LPU School of Journalism & Film Production. All of them belong to different states of India-Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgar, and West Bengal. Preetham Dev is the Director of the ad-film; Gopidi Vamshi Krishna is the Cinematographer, Shubham Malakar is the Screen Playwright, Deepak Kumar is the Editor, and Anish Kashyap, the actor is a B.Com student, while Shyambhu Poddar who handled Human Resources is from LPU School of Business.

This is not LPU’s first win at the prestigious film festival. At the 2014 Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival LPU student Ahsif Khan was honored for his short film ‘Poster’.
