Proving their mettle once again two MBA & BA students of Lovely Professional University, Amanpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh clinched 12 Gold, Silver & Bronze medals in international shooting championships held in Germany and the Czech Republic. Competing against prominent international shooters from countries including the USA, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Czechoslovakia, Kazakhstan, Argentina, Belgium, Netherlands and more; LPU students clinched 4 Gold, 6 Silver & 2 Bronze Medals in different events of the championships. All sports-lovers in India and LPU especially are very jubilant over this rare massive medal tally achieved by deft LPU shooters.

Participating in the 49th Grand Prix of Liberation event held in Pilsen (Czech Republic), LPU student Amanpreet grabbed 4 medals including Gold Medal in 25m Standard Pistol team event; Silver medal in 50m Free Pistol individual event; another Silver Medal in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event; and, Bronze Medal in 10m Air Pistol team event.

Similarly, in international shooting competition of Hannover (Germany), Amanpreet again showed his supremacy and snatched 6 medals including Gold Medal in 10m Air Pistol individual event; another Gold Medal in 50m Free Pistol team event; Silver medals in 50m Free Pistol individual event; 25m Standard Pistol individual as well as team events; and, Bronze Medal in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event. Under this very competition, another LPU student Gurpreet Singh, who is an Olympian also, clinched Gold Medal in 25m Standard Pistol individual event and Silver Medal in 25m Centre Fire Pistol individual event.

LPU Students won 12 Medals at International Shooting Championships held in Germany & Czech Republic

Prior to this, shooting sensation Amanpreet has already won Gold Medal in 61st National Shooting Championship governed by International Shooting SportFederation (ISSF) and National Rifle Association of India. He has pocketed many medals at ISSF organized World Cup Shooting Championship and Commonwealth Shooting Championship too. Illustrative, Amanpreet, an ONGC employee, is pursuing MBA programme from LPU Distance Education while Gurpreet Singh, an Army Personnel, is a student of BA programme.

Inspiring the achiever-students, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shared that LPU students are proving their excellence not only in academics, research, placements, entrepreneurship, extracurricular activities but other international fields including sports also. It is anticipated that such brilliant students will glorify India, their alma-mater and themselves by winning Olympic Gold at Tokyo in Japan in the year 2020.
