Lovely Professional University organized a one-week training session for English Teachers of Tibetan Secondary Schools. This was undertaken as a step towards sharing social responsibility under the project ‘Disha’. 26 English teachers from different Tibetan Schools nominated by the Department of Education of Central Tibetan Administration (DoE CTA), participated in the training program. LPU empowered the participants with smart teaching skills in English.

ring the training modern teaching techniques and technologies were discussed. The participant teachers were guided on how to choose the right curriculum and textbooks in adherence with international standards. Chief Education Officer of DoE CTA Mr. Tenzin Dorjee, Education Officer Ms. Tenzin Yangchen, LPU Senior Dean Dr. Sanjay Modi inaugurated the first training session.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said, “We are happy to contribute any way we can to the education sector. It brings me immense satisfaction that the areas we have touched and contributed towards are sure to return much to society. The handful of teachers groomed at LPU will shape thousands of students and their futures.”

Last year, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was invited to the LPU campus as Chief Guest to the 5th Convocation of the University. He took a keen interest in the way the knowledge was being disseminated at the university. This training for Tibetan teachers was organized in the same context. A little while ago a leadership workshop was also held, which was attended by a 100 Education Officers, Rectors, Principals, Headmasters/Mistresses, and teachers of Tibetan Schools had participated from across Nepal and India.
