YES! I am talking about “Us”. A generation that meditates in the loo, with ear drums on blast listening to a nauseating playlist of artistes with names way too scandalous to be mentioned. š
Gone are the days when there was a clear route or set of rules to become successful. I know it sounds rebellious, but read between the lines and you will see it represents “INDEPENDENCE” and not “ANARCHY”.
We have mastered the art of being Collective while learning to exist on our own Individual principles. We are generously Selfish [No specific definition, open to your own interpretation]. We often come across as distracted and ungrateful, but to me that represents free spiritedness – driven by adventure and risk taking capability.
For those who are already aware and acting on it? Hi five! But for those who are caught between fear and determination, here is how you will start:
DREAM
I know you have a dream and it’s quite possible you want to pursue it, but chances are you are scared and you don’t know where to start. What did I do? I just started and so did every other peer of yours, and we are all figuring it out along the way.
Will you feel lost and overwhelmed? Definitely!
Will you feel like crying some days? Absolutely!
But trust me you – You are going to have fun and feel liberated.
OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
So you have decided to pursue your aspirations – means you are all on your own. You might rely on people dear to you for support (In my case – my parents), but chances are they will be freaking out more than you, which doesn’t necessarily help. You feel unfamiliar and exposed.
Trust me, a few cuts and bruises will only teach you to stick up for yourself.
LOST BUT NOT LOST
You are no longer worried about what the outcome might be because you are living life as it is ought to be – solving each mystery one step at a time. You become self aware and your senses are stimulated by intuition and not by what you see. Your definition of success is no longer the bigger picture which you once painted but rather those small moments which you are gathering along the way. You are lost but only to find yourself [and get lost again]. It’s EXCITING!
YOU HAVE UNDERSTOOD YOURSELF
With the countless people you bump into everyday, it is only obvious that you end up changing your views on life every minute, consciously or subconsciously. But living life in your own lane makes you selective of such influences – you become aware of your blind spots and strengths. You know what to take in and what to dodge. In short you are “being yourself”, your authentic self.
YOUR PURPOSE BECOMES CLEARER
Okay, before I delve any further, I have something to clear. When you invest time in yourself, you become passionate about life and as such you end up looking like you are high to those people who are still hovering with the crowd ;).
So yes, your purpose becomes clearer and you become motivated to attain it.
YOU REALIZE YOU ARE GOING TO SUCCEED
I know I just made success sound so simple – but only because your definition of success is not going to be any final destination but a continuous progression fueled by growth.
We are living in a time when anything is possible if you set your mind to it. You just need to be excited and remember as long as you are breathing you are just one step away from leaving behind any predicament that’s dragging you down. You just have to take the first step!
