National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh, MHRD—GOI and Lovely Professional University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Under this MoU, both NITTTR and LPU will share their respective expertise and resources for quality improvement of technical education in the region and the country. NITTTR will organize faculty development programmes for LPU teachers through contact and ICT modes both at NITTTR and LPU; whereas, LPU will act as a nodal centre for ICT based training programmes conducted by NITTTR.

Training programmes for students from both the institutions will be organized at NITTTR/LPU as per requirement. In addition, both will undertake joint research projects in mutually agreed areas. This important MoU has been signed by NITTTR Director, Dr. M P Poonia and LPU Registrar, Dr. Monica Gulati. NITTTR, Chandigarh is one of the four national institutions established by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to provide professional education and training in the country for advancement of learning towards excellence in technical education and industry. LPU is an internationally renowned university providing quality education and expertise in the areas of Engineering, Management, Education, Ayurveda, Social Sciences, Media, Life Sciences, Performing Arts and more.

NITTTR and LPU faculty members will work in a networked manner for various academic programmes including M.Tech, Ph.D and allied activities as supervisors and co-supervisors. NITTTR will provide facilities including workshops, laboratories, library, ETV studio, and a computer center to LPU students for academic purposes; whereas, LPU will provide facilities related to different disciplines and programmes. In addition, joint consultancy programmes will also be undertaken at NITTTR/LPU.

Under this, both the institutions have agreed upon optimal utilization of infrastructure for the benefit of students and faculty members in the delivery of academic programmes. Both will make efforts for collaborative research projects and explore possibilities for undertaking international projects in the field of training and consultancy.”
