“Everything starts with you – the chaos or extraordinary wonders”

If I may admit to one thing about the digital age we live in – we all try and find momentary solace through outrageous memes and tumblr quotes. And to be honest I try a lot to decipher the psychology but confess myself only more confused. Having said that, what I do know is it brings momentary relief from the harsh reality. We find comfort in the fact that people have been there but then another reality sinks in – They have made it and “I am still two feet underneath the ground”. I know we are all trying to make it, everybody wants a career but ending up doing something that makes you content about your life is EVERYONE’S aspiration in this day and age. But to really do that we have to reconstruct our views and opinion about ourselves and also about the world at large. True to the words of my professor – you should learn to introspect yourself.

Here are the steps that helped me and will hopefully help you strat something wonderful in life as well.

  • You are different and unique

Have you ever had those moments where you feel like people don’t get you and you get tired of trying to assuage their misinterpretation – the outcome would most probably be you questioning your identity. I know we live in times where we need to blend in, but remember you should never try to blend in it with situations or people that go against your principles. Learn to accept yourself for who you are and trust me you will move mountains. Imagine the world of endless possibilities that could be in front of you if you let the right people and situations fuel you instead of you trying to adapt with everything just because you are suppose to blend in.

  • Keep an open mind

This is where the exceptional cases fall- You have every right to have your own views but don’t be so stubborn that you end up judging everyone’s opinion. If you find it wrong? Learn from it instead of going ballistic. Somebody might have felt the same about you (only human). That doesn’t mean you can’t have a healthy argument. In short – say what you mean but don’t be mean!

  • Humility

Let’s be real, we young people often act entitled and snobbish. And there’s no harm in admitting it – after all we belong to an era where everything is in abundance. We have the luxury to make a career out of almost anything we do (which is a really good thing) for e.g. INSTAGRAM. If I may say so, we are used to getting things handed to us effortlessly unlike our parents or elders who took ages to get where they are today. Humility to me is the art of admitting when we mess up or accepting the fact that someone else might be right when it comes to a certain situation – instead of being quick to rebuttal. Humility is accepting the fact that you are a work in progress and you are open to learning.

  • Learn to let go

Messed up a project? Don’t worry, it’s the not the end of your life – learn from it instead of sulking. Lost a good friendship? Don’t worry, you will make new friends – cherish the good memories and move on.

Learning to let go is a big word, it could be anything that’s weighing you down but if you muster the courage to detach from it – life will be a much better place.

You are only human, you’ll take a plunge into situation that will be your biggest mistake – but you sure as hell can get out of it too.

  • Stop second guessing yourself

This is a constant nightmare for me as well-I believe we can all work on it together? We often hear live in the present but to be honest it ain’t that easy- the fear of unknown which makes life so fascinating does equally give chills. But at the end of the day we only have ourselves who really knows what we want to make of our life and if we start doubting ourselves who else do we have?  So buckle up, conquer yourself and let’s be confident young individuals.

  • Be driven

Having the drive to do something great in life is the definition of your existence – It means you take your life seriously. It means you know you are capable of creating something big which nobody ever imagine to exist (I am not talking literally but I am sure some of you will definitely be one of them) but most importantly it means you value yourself.

Being driven will be your greatest refugee when you hit your lows, it will always push you to grow as human being.

You got one life, make it big!

  • Never stop learning

Contrary to what we’ve been told- getting a degree and job isn’t going to suffice your existence. We human beings, just like technology, become redundant – staying relevant is possible only if we are passionate about learning. Read a book, interact with people who have already made it, and be involved in what’s going on around you. Be a radical thinker.

  • Don’t let the internet dictate your  life

Internet is the biggest boon and bane we human beings have created – it is the biggest morale booster as well as the worse enemy we can have. But how you choose to let it affect your life is truly in your hands – You can either sulk as to why you haven’t mastered the art of taking a perfect selfie or you can choose to watch Ted Talks – the choice is yours my youngistaanis. You can either create a twitter rant or peacefully ignore one, hahaha. The power is all in your hands!
