The conference provided an excellent opportunity to research scholars, and academicians of meeting Indian and international experts from the tourism and hospitality industry.
The International Conference on “Prospects and Competitive Challenges in Global Hospitality and Tourism Industry” was organised by LPU’s School of Hotel Management &Tourism. The conference brought together academicians, research scholars, corporate professionals, and policy makers of the hospitality industry. It provided an excellent opportunity to the research scholars, and academicians of meeting Indian and international experts from the tourism and hospitality industry.
The chief guest of the conference, Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, Lovely Professional University, in his inaugural address stressed on the untapped potential of India as a tourist destination. The guests of honour of the conference included, Dr.Subhash Goyal, President Indian Association of Tour Operators and Mr. Amitabh Davender, Secretary General of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India. The two day conference attracted over hundred fifty research scholars from twenty prestigious universities of India. The Pro Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Mrs.Rashmi Mittal stressed upon the tourism professionals to maintain integrity and high professional standards while dealing with international tourists in order to enhance the appeal of India as a Tourist destination.
The conference concluded with an authors’ conclave at which some of the best authors of Tourism and Hospitality deliberated on issues and challenges of publishing high quality textbooks. The authors included Parvinder Singh Bali, Professor Manjula Chowdhary, Professor Smriti Raghubalan and Professor Mohinder Chand. The participating faculty, students and the research scholars were elated to meet and interact with the authors.
