(****) Some How It Happened

Imagine you are given a project and its deadline is exactly one year from now. What will you do? Well it is not a silly question and of course it is obvious that you will complete and submit the project within your deadline, but the question remains – what will you do?

Let me help you with the answer, some of us will look at the project assigned and may Google it, just to have a rough idea of what the project is all about, this can go for a day or two, or at max three, and eventually we will forget about it, until a month or week, or even just a night before the due date, and with all of this pressure on our minds, we will try to compile everything and present it.

There goes, another project completed in time, submitted too. Now, ask this question “what did you do?” and the answer is “SHIT” mind the actual meaning, here it means “Some How It Happened”. You were able to complete the work with maybe above average credentials but you never actually devoted yourself to it, didn’t research in depth, didn’t really dig into all the true aspects of it, never really thought about it, never  formed an educated opinion, nor gained any knowledge. All you did was complete a task.

Down the line you lost a lot, and wasted even more. You lost an opportunity to learn and explore. You also lost a chance to show your skills, your own views/creativity, and a chance to grow. When it comes to what you wasted, dear let me give you a hint, it’s bigger than the municipal trash bin!  You wasted, firstly your time which is never coming back because it’s a non-renewable resource and it’s limited, secondly the investment done on you by your company, mentors, family, and friends.

Now, all of it comes down to this; the action explained above voluntarily or involuntarily is performed by all of us. The task or time duration may vary but we end up putting ourselves in this situation where we start working at the eleventh hour and when we are asked ‘why?’ – the only answer we have is **** Some How It Happened !

P.S: Time Management is the need of the hour.
