There is nothing that our ambitious student organizations of LPU have left unexplored. Be it fun events, talent hunts, educational competitions, or even community service, they have always worked diligently towards achieving excellence.

With the belief, ‘WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS, Student Organization Aashray Crossroads Helping Hands is conducting its first of the kind event named ‘ANNAPURNA – Surgical Strike Against Hunger’ in collaboration with Robin Hood Army, Jalandhar. ANNAPURNA is a six-week long event which has started from 23rd February. Throughout the upcoming six weeks, Aashray will be providing the leftover food from the food joint named ‘Zaika – The Taste Of India’ situated in Lovely Professional University every Saturday to feed the needy in the localities of Jalandhar City.


The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer based, zero funds organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants and the community to serve the less fortunate people. Their local chapters are run by friends and colleagues, who hope to create a difference in their own unique ways. Their vision is to beat global hunger and bring out the best of humanity using food as a medium. With an army of more than 35,000 volunteers, they have served more than 1 crore people across about 118 cities.

A large number of people in this world sleep with an empty stomach every day. With Annapurna, Aashray Crossroads Helping Hands to unite people to make India a better place where no person sleeps with an empty stomach. The members of Aashray believe that this is their share in the fight for hunger.


Aashray Crossroad Helping Hands, under the aegis of Division of Student Welfare, Lovely Professional University, works to uplift the living standards of rural and urban communities and to fight against all social evils. Started by a group of friends from the Engineering Department, namely, Aniket Pandey, Sujeet Shukla and Rishabh Tiwari, the organization is now one year old and has more than 150 members all over the university.
