Student Society ‘Aspire Model United Nations’ Welcomes You to Its Second Edition

What is Model United Nations?

Model United Nations as its name suggests is a simulation of the actual United Nations where the students take the role of delegates of different countries for different committees and engage in a diplomatic debate to come to a substantive conclusion in regards to the agenda set by the committee. The delegates argue, discuss and move the discussion forward by debating according to their country’s foreign policy and by lobbying other countries in favor of their ideology.

Each committee has an executive board consisting of President, Vice-President, and Rapporteur who preside over the entire debate to make sure the committee functions smoothly without any glitches.

The Secretariat of Aspire MUN is pleased to invite you to the Second Edition of Aspire Model United Nations which will be held in Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab.

The first edition of Aspire Model United Nations aspired to acknowledge the importance of the underprivileged indigenous masses of the world. In this year’s conference, we aim to perceive ourselves as a community of responsible stakeholders of the world who aim to tackle formidable subjects of contention by means of effective research and deliberations.

The committees being simulated this year are,

1) UNGA – United Nations General Assembly – DISEC

2) UNHRC – United Nations Human Rights Council

3) UNSC – United Nations Security Council

4) COE – Council of Europe

5) Lok Sabha

6) GoT – Game of Thrones
