Six-day 31st Sub-Junior National Softball Championship (Boys & Girls) 2019 concluded on 13th February, 2019 at Lovely Professional University sports complex, where Telengana Girls & Rajasthan Boys lifted Winners’ Trophies. In the two final matches organized separately for girls and boys; Telengana girls beat Rajasthan team by 2-0 games; whereas, Rajasthan boys defeated Andhra Pradesh by 2-1 games. For second place, Rajasthan girls and Andhra Pradesh boys wore Silver Medals; and, for Third place Chhattisgarh girls as well as boys captured Bronze Medals. More than 600 sports persons along with their mentors, officials and referees from all across India had participated in the event.

During the award ceremony, LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal honoured the winners with scintillating trophies and medals. Mrs Mittal congratulated and inspired all participants for their zeal to be in the competition in such a tender age. She also advised all sportspersons, who were representing their respective state, to continue with their passion for being ever fit to bring glory to the nation through their sports-skills. Mrs Mittal also honoured best pitchers and runners from both sections including Vaishnavi, Ruchika, Indu, Muskan, Sonu Gurjar, Lokender and officials. Coach Subodh Mishra from Rajasthan, Official Akhila from Telengana appreciated the arrangements at LPU and wished the organization of such future competitions at LPU sports fields only.

Highlighting, Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Minister Sodhi, who is the President of Softball Association of India, had inaugurated the championship. In the concluding ceremony CEO, Softball Association of India, Dr Praveen Anaukar; Secretary Softball Association of Punjab Mr PN Passi; LPU Dean Student Welfare Dr Sorabh Lakhanpal, Sports Director Dr V Kaul also witnessed the awarding ceremony. Celebrating the national event, and upholding diversity in India as well as at LPU campus, Rajasthan girls also presented an enthralling dance presentation on modernity oriented folk-lore of Punjab.
