I believe the majority of us know about US President Donald Trump’s executive order. The order bars all persons from certain “terror-prone” countries from entering the United States for 90 days and suspends the US Refugee Admissions Program for 120 days until it is reinstated “only for nationals of countries whom” members of Trump’s dabinet deem can be properly vetted.

The countries impacted are Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia. Well, if you’re thinking that it is just for these seven countries, you’re wrong! Mr. Trump intends to stop all immigration into the United States which means that there will be fewer student visas issued no matter which country you belong to, and eventually lesser tourism into the United States because people would not want risk the trouble and spend their money on a pricey flight ticket.

I have a friend studying in the States and she was planning to come home for the summer, because she hasn’t seen her family for a year! The officials in her college are advising international students not to leave the country for fear that they might not be able to come back!

My only purpose in writing about this issue is not for you all to lament but for everyone to be aware of the news around the world. I guess there are plenty of students planning to study abroad, especially the States, and settle there ultimately. This piece is specially for people with such plans to be able to see through the dark and look into the future. If you’re planning to live in the States, you should be able to understand what that country may be like, a few years from now!
