“Don’t be afraid to change. You may lose something good, but you may gain something better.”

LPU witnessed an inspiring event “The Challenge of Change” conducted by the student organization “The wings of hope”. Held on the 26th of August, at the Shanti Devi Mittal auditorium, the event saw young achievers and entertainers like ethical hacker Rahul Tyagi, entertainer and motivational speaker Varun Pruthi, and stand – up comedian Jaspreet Singh address the students. LPU D. G., Er. H.R. Singhla welcomed the guests and opened the event.

Ex-student and the current Vice President of Lucideus – Rahul Tyagi, visited the campus to share his experiences, and some hacking tips with the students. He also demonstrated his skill live on the LPU stage by hacking a student’s mobile phone in under 30 seconds, and transferring all the data, browsing history, calling history, and other information onto his laptop. Then he taught the students some tricks to hack the famous game ‘subway surfers’ via ‘cheat engine’.

Outsiders might view with scepticism, the idea of teaching kids powerful skills like hacking that could be used to harm; that is why the session on exploiting computer vulnerabilities came with an ethics lesson.

Famous actor, dancer, director and youtuber, VarunPruthi also graced the event and touched students’ hearts with his motivational speech. He told the students that they need to find their big WHY in life. He shared his personal life experiences and emphasised the importance of being focused on one’s goals and not getting lured into distractions and vices. He also shared his motto of BHB- Bring Humanity Back. Pruthi also demonstrated his dancing talent on the famous Michael Jackson song ‘Beat It’.

A very innocent-looking guy who derives most of his humour from the things happening in his house and around him in his city, stand-up comedian Jaspreet Singh entertained the students with his uninhibited sense of humor. Laughter is the best medicine of course and it was a therapy much appreciated by the audience.

An event like the Challenge of Change couldn’t end without a breath of fresh air (literally). Rounding up the proceedings of the day was a cultural showcase of a series of dance and music performances by the students and freshmen of LPU. Performances by the popular band ‘Vishudh’ and the OMG dance group were the high notes of the evening.
