“Life should be big, not long” – Neerja Bhanot

What I’m writing today has been at the back of my mind for the longest time, but I never felt the urge to put it on paper till a recent incident gave me an epiphany – life is delicate! The best you can do is live it to the fullest, seize every moment and really embrace it – be it trials and tribulations or achievements, instead of being so jaded (which we young today are known for).

I know the world we live in is so crazy, you feel the need to rush everything like your life is all about staying in the mad circus which we ourselves continue to create. We barely have a few second to slow down and ponder on all the small things life has to offer- the love of family, the roof we have over our head, or the fact that we are still alive, instead we choose to sulk over Monday blues or the fact that our next door neighbour just bought a new car (sounds silly, but we are all guilty of such stuff).

To truly live your life is all in your hands, it could be the career choice you make or you peacefully detaching from negative people or situations, or choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. I know it doesn’t sound simple because the world we live in is mostly driven by mob mentality, but as my professor once said “you standing in your own truth is a sign of courage”. There is always going to be a deadline, or a person who envies you, or people who don’t understand your journey, but you realizing the fact that every other person somewhere is going through the same thing will be the greatest gift of solace and hope you can give to yourself.

You might be struggling with many setbacks and making it worse by judging yourself against someone else’s standard. This only belittles instead of uplifting you. If you are someone in such a situation, please remember no one is bothered by your setbacks so stop being so hard on yourself, instead focus on all the good things in your life and move ahead (We have all been there).

Your life is way too precious to be overshadowed by all the trivial things every individual is bound to go through. My sincere request to those who come across this write up is to start seeing life for all the peace and tranquillity it provides and unplug once in a while from all the chaos we create.

Go live life, you are worth it!

There you go guys, my two cents on how important it is to appreciate life before it’s too late. I am going to go grab a cup of hot masala chai now (one of the many small things I appreciate about living)

PS: This small write up is dedicated to all my dear friends whose life was taken away
way too soon in a recent mishap.
