Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently had the pleasure of hosting JUGNI, a vibrant Cultural Exchange Programme that beautifully connected the traditions of Punjab, India, and Turkistan, Kazakhstan. Organized by our enthusiastic Cultural and Youth Welfare Club in collaboration with the Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department of Punjab, this event was truly a celebration of art, heritage, and friendship.
On campus, the enthusiasm was overwhelming. While the heartfelt tunes from Turkistan artists moved people and created a peaceful atmosphere. The beating beats of Punjab’s Bhangra performances had everyone cheering and dancing. Every performance reflected the pride these two regions have in their cultural roots. You could feel the mutual admiration as both cultures shared their stories through dance, music, and art.
What made JUGNI truly special were the conversations that happened off-stage. It wasn’t just about watching performances; it was about building connections. Students, performers, and participants sat together, shared experiences, and explored each other’s customs. These moments of interaction showed how much we have to learn from one another and how culture can be a bridge that brings people closer.
