National Law School of India University (NLSIU Bengaluru) and the School of Law at Lovely Professional University collaborated to organise a 3-Day national conference on ‘Cyber Law & IT Protection’ at the LPU campus. NLSIU Vice- Chancellor Prof. Dr R Venkata Rao inaugurated the conference at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university. He gave an instructive message to the vast gathering of law students, faculty and authorities. In this conference, 100+ delegates from 30+ Law Institutes of 8 states of India and SAARC countries participated where selected 128 research papers will be discussed and reflected upon. Legal & Technical experts including Inspector General of Police, Cyber Crimes (Punjab) Naunihal Singh (IPS); Professor and Director Research & Development Council Prof. Dr T V Subba Rao; addressed the conference during inaugural session.
This conference comes when the world is invaded by cyber crimes and sensitive data stands vulnerable. Cyber Crime keeps getting harder to prevent each passing day as technology evolves every minute and every second. Justice to the victims of cyber crimes becomes vital.
NLSIU Vice- Chancellor Prof. Dr R Venkata Rao talked about how the emergence of technologies like IoT and AI leaves us threatened as every data can be obtained by something as simple as a contact lens. He expressed his views on artificial intelligence and said that machine is a good servant but a bad master.
IG Punjab Police Naunihal Singh(IPS) highlighted that the need of the hour is to keep ourselves updated with the latest technologies every minute and keep our minds vigil and alert to spot even the tiniest of discrepancies.
