In association with Curtin University of Australia, Mittal School of Business at LPU organised a three-day International Management Conclave. The inaugural session of the conclave was inaugurated by LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal and Australian Curtin University delegation. LPU Executive Dean Dr Sanjay Modi introduced the theme of the massive conclave as ‘‘Business Agility in Volatile Times’. Premier-Keynote Address was made by Director MBA Programs at Curtin University (Australia), Dr Stephen McKenna.

While addressing thousands of business students and faculty members, Chancellor Mr Mittal shared: “We have not only to grow in our businesses but survive also.” Quoting about the illustrious achievements made by LPU students on the world level in the field of placements, sports, co-curricular activities and various other national events, Mr Mittal proudly informed that these achievements of agility are befitting answers to ‘Volatile Times’. Here, he advised LPU students to be ever active and regularly achieving by being up to the expectations of the time. Taking examples of various successful entrepreneurs who excelled in spite of facing times of recession and depression, Mr Mittal suggested all: “Learn to handle the situation and continue working on your ideas passionately for sure success.”

While making premier- Keynote Address, Director MBA Programs at Curtin University (Australia), Dr Stephen McKenna shared: “Ever be developing and active for the businesses you are working in.” Defining the word “agility”, he added ‘action’ to its simple dictionary meaning- ‘ability to think quickly and clearly”. He shared that business agility refers to distinct qualities that allow organizations to respond/act rapidly to changes in the internal and external environment without losing momentum or vision. The three qualities of such agility are ‘adaptability, flexibility, and balance’. Dr Mckenna also underlined that “it is the customer only who determines what a business is, values it and pays for it in accordance. So, we all need to be agile.”

With International Conference; Workshop on Innovative Thinking; Executive Education Session on 5 trillion Dollar Economy-The Road Map; Student Case Study Competition; Doctoral Consortium; Research Methods Workshop; Business Case Study Analysis-Workshop; and, Panel Discussion, the three-day International Management Conclave is ‘eight in one’.

On this occasion, panel discussions were held with Director, Block-chain R & D Lab, Curtin University, Dr Vidy Potdar; Mr Atul Gandhi from  KPMG; Business Development and Office Executive, Stanford University, Ms Cecilia J. Zheng; and, Founder & CEO, Graspinor Analytics, Mr Lakshmi Narasimhan S.  CEO, Career Graph, Mr Varun Jain acted as the Moderator of the discussions. The inaugural day was concluded with 3 technical sessions, 2 Capacity Building Workshops and Poster presentations. Different technical sessions were on ‘Agile marketing for competitive advantage’; ‘creating agile workforce’; and, ‘building economies for corporate proficiency’.
