LPU NSS celebrated “International Mother Language Day” by its volunteers actively taking part in a rally of about 4 kilometers. It was organized by Punjab Jagriti Manch where more than 30 different educational institutions took part.
The volunteers rallied from Khalsa School Nakotar Chok, Jalandhar covering entire Jyoti market, shouting slogans like “Punjabi Boli – Maa Boli” and “Jai Punjab – Jai Punjabi” encouraging and supporting the regional language ‘Punjabi’.
The rally ended at Gadhr Party Martyr Hall where a cultural event was held and famed singers of Punjab – Gurdas Maan, Roshan Prince, and Lakhwinder Wadali performed to conclude the event.
International Mother Language Day is observed worldwide on 21st February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and also to promote multilingualism.
