Lovely Professional University’s Mechanical Engineering department organized the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RECENT ADVANCES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (ICRAME) on April 14 and 15, 2017. The Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Ashok Mittal, the honorable Chancellor of Lovely Professional University. ICRAME received 132 research papers, not only from India, but also countries like Rwanda and France. The papers presented at the conference will be published in Scopus Indexed Journals.
The technical committee, presiding over the conference comprised of experts from South Korea, Australia, US, Hong Kong and Iran. Eminent professors from IITs and NITs rendered their expertise as reviewers and national advisors. The conference aimed to provide a global platform to scientists, researchers, academicians, industrialists and students in the field of Mechanical Engineering, so that original research and developments could get an opportunity to be showcased and contribute in the advancement of technology.
Keynote speaker Mr. I. V. Rao, Executive Advisor, Maruti Udhyog Limited, in his inaugural address, emphasised the need to upgrade students from the college level to the corporate level. Prof. Nishant Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT Bombay, highlighted how even with limited resources, much could be achieved. Mr. Prashant Dhawan, Co-founder, Biomimicry India Network threw some light on mimicking nature to explore new avenues of technology.
The entire programme consisted of 8 technical sessions, spread over 2 days. It was a great learning experience for all in attendance, as international experts and leaders shared their knowledge, vision and experience.
