Tata Group organized Asia’s largest Campus Quiz ‘Tata Crucible-2019’ at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of Lovely Professional University (LPU), where LPU students’ team of Vikash & Siddharth declared at 2nd Runner-Up Position. This competition is organized throughout the country annually by Tata Group in different steps. Traversing across 40 cities in India, one of the city competitions of the quiz is conducted at LPU for the state of Punjab. Out of 400+ teams those participated in preliminary round, six teams, including three teams of LPU, had competed in the final round. A written and then quick prelim of 20 questions had made them to the final round.
From fostering international understanding through student internship programmes to promoting social entrepreneurship; Tata group engages with the youth through various initiatives. ‘Tata Crucible Quiz’ is one of these, which is aimed at bringing together the sharpest young minds to take on the toughest quizzing across Asia. Tata Group has been organizing this regional round for the last four consecutive years at LPU campus since 2015. The ‘Quiz’ also has its international editions in Singapore, Dubai, Middle East and some other countries also.
LPU students made applauding, prompt and penetrating answers to Asia’s ace quiz-master Giri Bala Subramaniam aka Pickbrain and Ms Rashmi’s corporate knowledge quizzing. LPU students outdid other competing teams, other than that of Aditya & Akshay of DAVC Jalandhar, which won the competition. NIT Jalandhar team of Swati and Manu declared 1st Runner Up.
Expressing his gratitude towards ‘LPU’, Mr Pickbrain praised university for providing great infrastructure and allied assistance in holding the grand live show running in parallel. LPU Director General Er HR Singla awarded the winning and participating teams with cash prizes, certificates & trophies. LPU students shared: “Living in a great study environment at LPU, we have developed ourselves by gaining versatile knowledge from diverse and enthralling doings at the campus. We are thankful to the university for believing in us and for shaping us so well.”
