The dimensions of two-day annual international festival One World of Lovely Professional University got heightened when His Excellencies Ambassadors from six countries Mr Dembo M Badjie from Gambia, Mr El Hadji Ibou Boye from Senegal, Ms Elizabeth Paula Napeyok from Uganda, Mr Faruque Omar Faquira from Mozambique, Mr Ahmed Mohamud Mohamed from Somalia and Deputy High Commissioner and Minister Plenipotentiary Mr.Malose William Mogale from South Africa inaugurated it in unison. Theme of this year’s grand international festivity Travel & Tourism. About 2000 LPU international students from 30 countries are showcasing culture of their respective countries. Multi-coloured one kilometer long procession with attractive tableaus depicting culture of the represented countries, expo stalls, musical shows are letting thousands of on-looking students to imbibe global brotherhood to the core.
Welcoming the high profiled guests from six countries, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal and Pro Chancellor Ms Rashmi Mittal led them to visit each and every stall of different countries, designed and decorated by international students. Mr Mittal reminded guests about the age old relations between India and African Countries. Talking about African Summit held in New Delhi a few days back, Mr Mittal asked Guests to be in collaborations with LPU as LPU is open for any partnerships for mutual growth of the nations. Guests got overwhelmed on seeing the marvelous cultural extravaganza, and presentations based on the theme of Travel and Tourism at different stalls. Motivating LPU students, guests bade them to be true brand ambassadors of their respective countries at LPU Campus and to represent their alma- mater while being back in their own countries. On this occasion, Deputy Head of Mission & First Counsellor of Senegal Mr.Abdoul Aziz Loum, First Secretary of Mozambique Mr.Augusto Antonio Generoso, Educational Attaché from Uganda Mr.Baker Nantawuna Balunywa and Diplomat Attaché from Gambia Mr. Sankung Fofana were also accompanying the Ambassadors.
Providing a common platform to international students to represent heritage of their respective country, LPU organizes its annual international fest “One World”. This year the 7th fest is being celebrated on a vast theme of tourism for two days. Showcasing and upholding cultural heritage of their respective country, international students also kept on dancing & singing throughout the day. Participating 30 countries included students from China, South Africa, Bhutan, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Cameroon, Zambia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sudan, Rwanda, Congo, Tanzania and more. International students were seen with attires, ornaments and other attributes of their respective country. Continuing 6 years of celebrations at 4 venues of the campus through 50 exhibition stalls; 2000 international students mesmerized 30000+ campus audiences. Maintaining global unity, Indian students, too, participated along with their International counterparts in different celebrations.
