With the vision to promote voluntary blood donation, National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC) in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India conducted the event BLODCON 2017 at Lovely Professional University. The event saw massive participation from about 150 delegates from all over the world.
The Chief Guest at the event was Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K P Singh. Dr KP Raj Gopal Chairman of FIDBO and Mr Rana KP Singh inaugurated the conference and appreciated the efforts made by various organizations to encourage voluntary blood donation. In the light of the event, an awakening rally was also organized in which students took part.
Discussion on challenges in attaining 100% voluntary blood donation by 2020 – Vision 2020 took place. The event was a success as the leaders of blood donation organizations from across the world got the chance to understand the challenges faced and solutions to them from different perspectives.
