Inteactive Programme on Changing Dimensions of Law In India

Oct, 25 2016 (Tuesday): The School of Law organised one day Interactive Programme on the theme Changing Dimensions of Law in India. The basic purpose of this Interactive Programme was to open new horizons for the students on the threshold of law thereby benefiting them in developing their personality and inspiring them towards legal education. A total of thirty three participants from Saffron Public School, Phagwara attended this one day interactive programme. Mr. Balwinder Singh, Assistant Professor, School of Law was the Programme coordinator of this interactive event. Mrs. Meenu Chopra CoD School of law gave the welcome address to participants and discussed the basic approach towards studying law as well as what law is and why we need law. The programme was divided into pre lunch and post lunch sessions. The first session began with the sub theme of Eve Teasing and Sexual Harassment in which Dr. Jane Eyre Mathews, Assistant Professor, School of law interacted and highlighted the above mentioned issue through discussion and videos. The other sub themes of the pre lunch session included Death Penalty as well as Lokayukta.

Post Lunch Session began with the interesting theme of Security of Online Social Networks were Mr. Rupendra Singh, Assistant Professor School of Law interacted with students and answered various query of students regarding issues relating to  face book, whatsapp and other online social networks. The other sub themes of the post lunch sessions were Right to Privacy and Right to Information. During the whole of the interactive session the students were very curious and raised various queries. All the queries were dealt with in a very positive and friendly atmosphere from all the speakers of the Programme.

In the last Participation Certificates were distributed to the Students in presence of Dr. Pavitar Prakash Singh HoS School of Law and Mrs Meenu Chopra CoD, School of Law.
