* Government Report Recognizes LPU’s Remarkable Achievement: Filing 1,387 Patents in a Single Year, Tops Amongst Universities and IITs
Lovely Professional University (LPU) has established itself as the frontrunner in patent filings in India, surpassing all universities, including the prestigious IITs. The Government of India’s Annual Report of Intellectual Property India for the year 2022-2023 has officially recognized this outstanding achievement in research, innovation, and invention by LPU.
According to the report, LPU filed a staggering 1,387 patent applications, surpassing the combined total of 803 filings by all IITs. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) filed 84 patent applications, and the CSIR filed 231 applications during the same period. This accomplishment highlights LPU’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and making significant contributions to the world of intellectual property.
