Observing the annual ‘faculty appreciation award ceremony’, Lovely Professional University bestowed honours upon its top 117 researchers & faculty members. LPU teachers who contributed to exceptional research, teaching and co-curricular activities were awarded. In this context, cash awards worth Rs 30 Lakh were given away to 117 recipients for their illustrious distinctions.
Minister of State for Rural Development and Steel (Government of India) Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste chaired the ceremony, where 27 research excellence awards for the 2019-20 session; 54 research excellence awards for 2020-21 session; 34 teaching appreciation awards; and, 2 teaching appreciation awards in the name of Dr CB Gupta were awarded.
Congratulating and addressing the award winners, faculty members and students at LPU’s Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, Minister Mr Kulsate appreciated LPU for its illustrious achievements in the areas of research, rankings, accreditation, placements, innovations and more. Taking pride in LPU’s achievements, Mr Minister also mentioned that LPU is one of the universities of the country, which has contributed enormously to the education sector. Elaborating, he talked about LPU students’ placements in the top ten companies of the world through the able guidance of their teachers and management. He also quoted LPU as the foremost university of the country for raising a single campus university with all world-class amenities in various disciplines.
On this occasion, Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Mr Naresh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro-Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Lovi Raj Gupta and Executive Dean & Registrar Dr Monica Gulati accompanied the Chief Guest on the main dais for awards distribution to LPU faculty members.
Appreciating the remarkable achievements of the teachers in research, development and teaching; Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “I admire our teachers whose work is consistently regarded as the best across the world. They must motivate their students as well so that our students can contribute illustrious achievements for helping society in hours of need.” Mr Mittal also shared about LPU’s coveted ranking among the top 10 in various domains by Times Higher Education global ranking. Mr Mittal congratulated faculty members for adding new chapters of successes to their respective domains and encouraged all to register more researches, patents, publications and innovations.
LPU has initiated several schemes to promote excellence in academic and research fields for the benefit of all denizens of the globe. During the severe COVID 19 pandemic, LPU’s researchers and scientists created several innovative devices and means to benefit the global society on health and safety issues. The implied aim of LPU here is to provide foreseeable benefits by achieving quantifiable outcomes through regular research works and immediate implementations thereof.
One of the award winners, Prof Dr Kailash Chandra Juglan of Physics shared: “Such awards make us more responsible and duty-bound to our profession and the society. I assure you that my future endeavours will also be ever there for the betterment of my students so that we all make our LPU and India number one in the kingdom of education.”
