Lovely Professional University organized 7th international conference on computing sciences (ICCS-2023) in association with Russia’s Southern Federal University (SFedU) & Ethiopia’s Mizan Tepi University. Here, authorities on computing from 21 nations including Russia, Malaysia, Ethiopia, South Korea, Sri Lanka interacted with thousands of LPU students, physically, virtually and through their research submissions.
About 2300 research papers are submitted for the conference from top educational institutions of more than two scores of nations from across the world. Of these, the best will be published in Scopus-indexed proceedings/Journals. A large number of participants, paper presentations and submissions are self-explanatory for the success of the conference.
Addressing researchers, academicians, stalwarts from computing fields & related industries; the Patron of the Conference, LPU’s Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal congratulated the organizing team for continuing with the legacy of international conferences. Releasing the abstracts’ book for the conference, she invoked students to be change makers in the present era of regular challenges and changes. She also advised all to stay ready for facing the shifting technologies every moment.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning’ (ML) stalwarts gathered at the conference suggested unanimously that presently people are heading towards an era of machines & humans working more closely together than ever. Researchers presented their papers in various fields including latest ChatGPT, humanoids in houses, multi-dimensional system architectures, intelligent systems, and many more.
Some of the key-note speakers at the conference included Prof Dr Mikhail Karyakin, Dr Yana M Demyanenko, Dr Oleg Kravchenko-all three from Southern Federal University, Russia; Director of Research, Prof Dr Valliappan Raju from Perdana University, Malaysia; Prof Dr Smegnew Asemie from Mizan-Tepi University, Ethiopia; Harsh Dewan and S Vikram Singh from related industry and many others. All of them got highly impressed with the study and research environment at LPU campus.
Dr Mikhail talked on AI based research; Dr Yana touched the topic on ‘computer vision for medical image analysis; and, Dr Oleg talked about ‘Investigation by drones’. Prof Dr Raju informed us about technology of tomorrow and the shift to the next Industrial revolution 5.0, which will be how to connect man with machine. Harsh Dewan informed that many companies are having their own versions of ChatGPT; and, Vikram Singh shared how technology evolves and echoes for common people.
The main objective of the conference ICCS 2023 was to exchange innovative ideas among researchers from all around the world. It was also to make national and international experts and industry leaders share their experiences and success stories.
Held in a hybrid mode, this joint conference-‘Kilby-100’ marked the birth centenary year of the Nobel laureate & microchip inventor ‘Jack St Clair Kilby’- an American electrical engineer. Prior to this, six international conferences have already been organized at LPU campus to commemorate the 100th birth anniversaries of other great computer scientists from across the world.
