Popular magazine ‘Career Connect’ puts LPU at the top of the list of best private engineering institutions in Punjab and Chandigarh, while IIT Ropar tops public institutions.
In a prestigious national level survey, LPU has been ranked as one of the top engineering institutions in Punjab and Chandigarh, at par with the best IITs of the country. LPU tops the the ranks of private sector institutions while IIT Ropar tops the Public Sector institutes. The popular magazine ‘Career Connect’ has covered the ranking in its ‘Best Engineering Colleges of India 2016’ issue. Based on various parameters of the overall development of students, LPU has earned five stars like the top IITs of India have earned individually in their respective states.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal says: “I am proud of my team. Through the dedicated efforts of everyone at LPU our students have been placed with top brands like Google to Microsoft, Apple to Amazon, and many others at packages that have hit the 1 crore mark. LPU students have also set a new record of highest engineering placement in North India by getting hired in large number on a single day, twice by IT giant- Cognizant. I hope we keep setting new records and getting good rankings”
Giving out why private and public colleges are ranked separately this time, the editorial team of Career Connect revealed, “Support systems of both private and public institutions are completely different. While Government institutions including IITs have lot of government support in terms of infrastructure and capital, private institutions have to generate their own investment. The objective of this hard done ‘Ranking’ is to help engineering aspirants with a comprehensive list of quality Engineering Universities – both in public and private domains.”
It is worth mentioning that in just the first five months of 2016, many prestigious publications related to higher education have counted LPU among the best institutes in the country. Along with the ASSOCHAM Award, LPU has won mention in the ranks of top institues in popular magazines like ‘Careers360’ and ‘Career Connect’.
