LPU conducts an Intra University Cricket Tournament for the staff and faculty members annually for inculcating the spirit of sportsmanship. The 25-day event was the fifth season of the LPU-IPL. This initiative was adopted to bring about a sense of newness in the monotonous routine of the staff members and faculty. This year, team ‘We-XI’ was declared a winner and the 1st runner-up position was bagged by ‘DSA Dragons’. This event was organized on a huge scale with about 30 teams and more than 500 members from staff and faculty participating.
Former Indian cricketer Iqbal Siddiqui who is known for his defensive bowling was the chief guest for the finale. He presented the winning team’s captain, Varun Kumar, with the trophy and encouraged such initiatives as they tend to help people to lead a stress-free life.
The players expressed their utmost interest in such activities as they help them rejuvenate and get back to work with a new vigor and energy.
