Landing a solid internship or apprenticeship is agony for most graduates in India. Random calling, emailing your resume to hundreds of potential employers seems to be an insidious ordeal, and indeed it is! While some faculties assist their pupils in landing brilliant internships, most other students are compelled to lock horns and hunt internships on their own. The trickiest concern is to hunt for genuine leads that can land you an internship on google, which indeed is enervating.
But enough is enough, Lovely Professional University’s prodigy Tharun Kumar Vulli, a pupil of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, is rock-ribbed to put an end to this charade. Tharun Kumar Vulli, along with five of his friends, got the show on the road with their venture, “Sixinterns” providing paid internship opportunities to students from all over the country. Their motto is “Never work for free.” Now, how’s that for an internship pitch?
Being a junior year student and facing issues hunting relevant internships, he’s familiar with the gigs & gaps between the corporates & the students. His venture serves as a platform for students and multinational corporations, well-established startups like Ola, Zomato, Swiggy, Flipkart, etc.
Their venture offers free mentoring for interns on a case-by-case basis, preparing them for a fine job. Several of their interns perform really well and secure pre-placement offers by firms and businesses. The business model is quite unique! The Sixinterns team consists of prodigies from top IITs & NITs, who relentlessly mentor trainees and then send them to corporations ensuring the hiring firms receive skilled interns. Until now, his team has mentored over 10,000 students pooled resources with over 15 multinational corporations.
In an interview, Tharun stated that he plans to expand his venture’s network and scale up accordingly. As of now, the Sixinterns team is centered in Hyderabad and comprises a few members majorly working from home. He also highlighted the fact that he wants to achieve global recognition and work with clients abroad as soon as he gets done with his B.Tech. Lovely Professional University congratulates Tharun Kumar Vulli and wishes him luck in his future endeavors.
