One of the Ph.D. Scholars in Physics at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Preeti Kumari have investigated some solids for good thermo-electric and optoelectronic efficiency to be used as novel thermal and solar energy.
Evaluating Preeti’s significant findings, the Department of Science & Technology (DST) at the Government of India’s Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) fully facilitated her to attend the 11th International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies (ICMAT) 2023  in Singapore.
LPU Scientist shared her unique scientific findings with the world. She put forth her valuable results amid the presence of Nobel Laureate, distinguished plenary & keynote speakers, and nearly 3,000 participating speakers and delegates from across the world.
Congratulating the research-oriented scholar at the University for her world-acclaimed findings, LPU Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal encouraged her to keep on investigating scientifically for the ultimate ease of humanity. Dr. Mittal also encouraged her mentors at the School of Chemical Engineering and Physical Sciences, who paved her way to globally beneficial unique findings. Preeti has also earlier published five SCI-indexed research articles.
The novel materials searched by Preeti in the form of oxides of Magnesium, Calcium, and Barium are to be used in new thermo-electric generators, where waste heat would be used to generate electricity. Moreover, their optoelectronic behavior also shows Ultraviolet (UV) absorbance characteristics. This obtained energy band gap is compatible with its use in solar cell applications.
Before this 11th ICMAT conference; the first 10 conferences have already attracted more than 25,000 participants including 28 Nobel Laureates, hundreds of distinguished plenary & keynote speakers, in addition to many thousands of invited speakers.  Indeed, ICMAT 2023 proved to be a premier scientific platform to present research to an interdisciplinary and international audience.
