On 14-February-2019, the nation witnessed one of the most tragic chapters in its history when a devastating terror attack in Pulwama claimed the lives of 40 brave personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). As India remembers this day with solemn resolve, Lovely Professional University (LPU) stood united to pay heartfelt homage to the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The #LPUFamily gathered in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families, honouring the courage, valour, and selflessness of the fallen heroes. The tribute served as a powerful reminder of the price paid to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and the enduring spirit of those who protect it.
The solemn ceremony was led by Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, along with Dr. Sorabh Lakhanpal, Professor & Executive Dean, Student Welfare Wing. Students, cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) participated in large numbers, standing shoulder to shoulder in respect and remembrance.
As the campus observed moments of silence and reflection, the gathering reaffirmed a collective commitment to uphold the values for which the martyrs laid down their lives—unity, courage, and service to the nation.
Their sacrifice is forever etched in our hearts and in the conscience of our country. Their courage continues to inspire generations, reminding us that the spirit of India remains unbreakable.
