Lovely Professional University’s Human Resource Development Center and Division of Innovation & Entrepreneurship in association with ENEA (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment) organized Short Term Course on Energy Management 4.0 w.e.f. June 2 to July 4, 2021. The Course was instrumental in capacity building on innovative practices in energy management.
Mr R. P. Gautam, Sr. Vice President, Maral Oversears, Dhar, Madhya Pradesh in his inaugural address emphasized the need for effective energy management which is essential to reduce the carbon emission, improve efficiency and cost saving. He congratulated the organizing team for organizing one month long program on an agenda of priority for sustainable development and applauded the participants for showing keen interest in up skilling themselves in futuristic thrust area of energy management.
The program was conducted by seasoned Subject Matter Experts from industry and academia. The main objectives of the course were development of holistic approach towards energy management, energy analysis and exploration of opportunity to upgrade careers in energy management with new aspects of IoT and Energy Management System.

Buddhi, Executive Dean Research and Innovation, Dr. Rajesh Singh, Professor, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Dr. Anita Gehlot, Associate Professor, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Mr. Sagar Samal, Data Scientist, IBM focused on varied topics of enrgy management to mention a few are -Sensor and systems for building automation, Basics of Arduino, sensors, role of embedded system and IoT, NodeMCU, Blynk App, ThingsSpeak, Types of embedded system, product life cycle, hardware and software, Function of relay and other components in hardware implementation in automation, display devices, simulation models and programming, Machine learning & real time data logging, digital sensors, simulation models and programs and Predictive maintenance of power grid and devices.
Guest of Honor Dr. Dilawar Singh, Founder & Promoter Sun Brilliance Group, Australia who has been credited with many commercial renewable energy projects in Australia and in developing countries motivated the participants to collaborate and writing research project proposals in the field of sustainable energy industry including energy efficiency, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind, mini and micro hydro power.
Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) D.P. Kothari, Former Director I/C IIT in his address, revealed the opportunity to upgrade career in energy management with new aspects of IoT. He emphasised the need for starting industry-oriented courses and opening some platforms for entrepreneurs to learn about emerging technologies in energy management. He extended his sincere congratulations to the organizing team of Lovely Professional University for organizing the Short Term Course on Energy Management 4.0

The program convener Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor, Associate Dean and Head LPU-HRDC emphasized that the Short Term Courses organized as outreach training programs are envisioned to upskill participants of Lovely Professional University and public at large and this course was successful in meeting the said objectives. The Program Coordinator Dr. Savita Gupta, Professor and Head –Dept. of Faculty Development, HRDC emphasized on application of the knowledge and skills acquired through the course and contribute to research in the field of energy management. The Co-Convener of the program Dr. Anita Gehlot, Associate Professor, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lovely Professional University presented the Program Report by sharing the ‘THINK BIG’ vision of Lovely Professional University which empowered them to organize the Short Term Course Energy Management 4.0 and congratulated the participants for successful completion of the program.
