Background & Rationale
Workshop on Climate Change adaption in rural Areas, an awareness Program was organised by Lovely Professional University for Agro entrepreneurs and agrilculturists. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sadawarti, Dean, Lovely Professional University, Sh. Sharad Gaur, Scientist-G & Senior Programme Director, Centre for Environment Excellence, were the key facilitators.
The schedule carried a multi pronged approach that included inputs, group discussions, situational analysis, and panel discussions.
The Focus pointers were:
- Context Setting and Introduction to the topic
- The International Climate Policy
- Role of Government in Climate Adaptation
- Role of Research Organizations and NGOs in climate adaptation
- Role of Youth in Climate action and adaptation
The program received active participation of 92 participants. The participants were appreciative of the gesture shown by the University in terms of choice of Subject Matter Experts, appropriate learning environment, venue setting, infrastructure, study tours and content delivery. They were also impressed by the subject expertise of the resource persons. The participants observed that the program was outcome oriented and gave them new insights on the topic.
