As the first session of YAYAVAR Jalandhar Literary Festival brought to an end, the second half was much awaited within the audience and guests as the host of one of the most loved TV show, Crime Patrol Mr. Anup Soni was the guest for it.
The session started with Jaspreet Kaur Falak, Founder of Kavita katha Karvaan, an organization that provides a platform to the young and budding poets, shayars and singers, to explore their talents and bring it in front of the world. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur had her 3 books published and won several awards including “Shushvanti Kavitri ” and “Amrita Pritam Award”. She also thanked the presence of the audience by poem “mere sir par hath duao wale hai, mujhko lagata hai mai kismat wali hoon”.
The second session was by Mr. Amit Jindal who is Advocate by profession but was no less than an enthusiastic personality who was also the moderator for one of the Panel Discussions “Meri Teri Amrita” where the member for the discussion was Khalid Hussain Sahib who is short story writer and Amia Kunwar who is Author and professor by profession. The panel gave an insight into Amrita Pritam’ who was an Indian novelist, essayist and poet, who wrote in Punjabi and Hindi. Also, some of her best works were mentioned in the discussions which were “Ajj aakhaan Waris Shah nu” and “Pinjar” also her Literary Journal “Nagmani ” held special attention within the panel and audience.
The session was taken forward by LPU’s Alumna Shwetima Jamwal who is currently working as an RJ in Radio Mirchi. She introduced the topic “A Reality check of Literature Dying or Flourishing” and mentioned about the role LPU plays in her achievement and making her what she is today. She also talked about how her first failure taught her to not stop and learn from her mistakes. She mentioned about leaving her job at MNC and a choice of choosing RJ as a career. Shwetima mentioned in the audience that literature is just not about reading books or writing one it can be in any form whether to choose to see an ancient monument or studying the older India than we all know about. It can be in the form of the cultural fest we are the part of or the poem we love to recite on. She concluded her session with a note “When your heart says you are first, what rest says doesn’t matter” and told her juniors to “Be themselves”.
And then the most awaited part of the session started when the moderator of the panel Arush Mahajan, CEO, VIA ENS and Management Director at Yayavar was called upon the stage. He is the owner of a digital platform that provides 2000+ students with a digital exposure to learn and earn through this technology in Jammu. Anirban Bhattacharyya, Producer of Crime Patrol and Anup Soni, the Host of Crime Patrol and Actor, started the discussion on “The Inside Story of Crime Patrol”. Anup Soni was born in Ludhiana, lived till the age of 6 in Punjab, he is also a Co-creator of Savadhan India, Fear Files and also had written a book. The inside story of crime patrol stated how the idea of creating and bringing real-life incidents and crimes to everyone in order to make them aware of the different conditions crimes could occur and to be safe from it.
The panel also discussed, how we can recognize the sign of crime in one’s family and amongst friends, to which Mr. Soni mentioned that “Depression is the biggest killer”. He also educated the audience that one must take care of their friends and try to understand and analyze the behavioral pattern of the affected person. Mr. Anirban Bhattacharyya also added value to the discussion by talking about the different psychology of the killers and how one can identify the killers in various conditions. The Promotion of the book “The Deadly Dozen” involves the story of 12 serial killers which is written by Mr. Bhattacharyya and is also number 1 best seller on amazon. The light was also shredded on the fraud calls and scams that frequently happen these days and how one can be aware and understand those fake calls and stay protected from them.
The last session of the day was taken by Mr. Kanwar Gagan who is the owner of 39 Bakers, and a food artist from Scotland. Mr. Kanwar is also awarded as the Best Entrepreneur 2018-2019 by Gramin Bank of Jammu. He talked about “Hunger for More” where he mentioned that every day around 20 Crore people sleep without having dinner in India. He also mentioned one of his ideas to install freezers outside every restaurant in order to save food and give it to needy ones. He wrapped his session with beautiful lines such as “Fenk rahe ho roti shayad aaj ye soch ke ki we sookhi hai, dhyan se fenkna uss roti ko meri beti kal se bhookhi hai.”
And then the whole day of learning, literature and culture was concluded by Ms. Nupur Sandhu, Founder and President of Yayavar and then the token of thanks and gratitude was presented to every speaker and panel member. A special token of thanks was presented to Dr. Saurabh Lakhanpal, Dean of Division of Student Welfare for collaborating with Rotary Club Jalandhar and conducting the literary fest on a beautiful campus with a lovely audience. The session concluded on a positive note of conducting more such fest in the campus of Lovely Professional University to witness the charm and enthusiasm of the audience in LPU.
