The KVS National Pre-Subroto Football Cup for boys under 17 was held at the LPU Campus, and the closing ceremony was held on August 2, 2023, at Uni Polis. The day began with KVS dignitaries lighting the lamp, followed by a cultural program presented by school sophomores. The young aspirants presented Bhangra and Gidda with incredible moves, creating an atmosphere of sheer delight. The prize distribution ceremony was the highlight of the day, and the young players were overjoyed to see their team win and earn the trophy. The success of the teams was due to their outstanding teamwork.
The matches were played on two grounds. In G1, the Hardline Match was between Ernakulam and Ranchi. Ernakulam outperformed Ranchi by scoring 5 goals, while Ranchi struggled to score even 1 goal. The toughest competition of the Final Match team was between Guwahati and Dehradun, in G2 wherein Guwahati scored only 2 goals, and Dehradun lost with only 1 goal.
The final standings were as follows: Guwahati earned 6 points and secured the top position, followed by Dehradun with 4 points in second place. Ernakulam secured third position with 2 points, and Ranchi stood in fourth position with zero scores.
To all the school sophomores, always remember to stay positive, as some teams win and others learn to win. We are immensely proud of all the teams and encourage you to keep rising. The squads were delighted to get clicked with the luminaries for acknowledgment. The young schoolers were true warriors on the ground, giving their opponents a tough time. The onlookers were all praising and cheering up the teams.
