‘Start up LPU, Rise up LPU’
More than 350 innovative projects were showcased at Lovely Professional University today at its annual Next Generation Expo 2016 (NGXPO-2016). Carrying the slogan ‘Start up LPU, Rise up LPU’, NGXPO-2016 displayed start-up projects from different domains of Engineering, Computer Applications, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, and Fashion -Technology. The most attractive project was a drone that was shown capable of transporting blood during emergencies.
LPU Director General Er HR Singla inaugurated the Expo with an encouraging, motivating speech. CEOs and Marketing Heads of various prestigious companies visited the expo in a hunt for the next big idea. They applauded the students’ efforts and were very impressed with their ideas. During ‘Business Talk’ hours at the Expo, the Unit Head of ‘Shoppers Stop’ Mr. Sandeep Kumar advised students that before embarking upon any project they should have some related industry experience.
The students displayed many great ideas through their projects. To address the issue of water conservation projects like ‘Smart Water Conservation for Next Gen Cities’, ‘Smart Rain Harvesting’, ‘Kharcham Wangtoo Hydro Electric Power Plant Prototype’, and ‘Grey Water & its Conservation’ were undertaken.
Ankit Badola showcased a ‘Solar Power Bank’ which could prove a boon to mobile users on long road journeys. ‘Earthquake Resistance Suspension Bridge’ project attempted to design a bridge that would remain tremor less during earthquakes. explained how bridges with large number of vehicles can remain without vibrations & tremors less during earthquakes.
