Mittal School of Business (MSB) at Lovely Professional University organized one-day massive International Management conference at the campus, where eminent speakers from four Continents, America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, addressed the participants from different national and international institutions. The theme of the conference was “Volatile Consumer Behaviour & Marketing”, where 3000+ management Students & faculty-members and industry people attended the conference. At this conference, 200+ research papers were also got selected for publication in top Journals. In addition, more than 200 elite academicians and students from institutions across the state and the country also participated during technical sessions of the conference. MSB had joined hands with Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) for this mammoth organization.
During the inaugural session held at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university opening Virtual address was made by Professor of Marketing Dr Jagdish N. Sheth Charles H. Kellsstadt at Goizueta Business School of Emory University, United States. Prof Sheth explained all about Indian consumers, unbranded products and unorganized sectors. General Manager at Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (Estonia) Dr Kristjan Oad informed that Estonians are the most entrepreneurial people in Europe, today. Talking about the worst period of Estonia, Mr Oad inspired all to rise like Estonia and “make oneself known to the world by creating something out of nothing”. Prof Nimay Kalyani from the Newcastle University of Australia talked about “Price” & “Value” and a needed balance between the two. Similarly, Senior Vice President at MakeMyTrip (Gurgaon) Mr Sushil Verma elaborated how marketers approach their consumers through needed observation, research, diversity, data and patterns. He advised to have leverage on the opportunity, understand the consumer and be adjusting to demanding.
Prior to this, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal inspired all at the conference to be ever focussed and target oriented. Taking an example of the huge Indian democratic set-up, Mr Mittal considered Indian leaders as entrepreneurs and voters as consumers. Mr Mittal explained all that both ruling and opposition parties take care of their voters’ (consumers’) behaviour for long years. On this occasion, LPU Executive Dean Dr Sanjay Modi, Dean Dr Rajesh Verma, Director Mr Aman Mittal also shared the addressing dais.
Simultaneously five technical sessions witnessed elaborated presentation of selected 80 research papers, under titles “Consumer buying behaviour in the digital age; Customer data-driven marketing; Consumer innovativeness and disruptions; Marketing to millennial consumers; and, Consumption trends and developmental marketing.” Along with this, a workshop on entrepreneurship was also held for the benefit of the students.
