* Top 30 teams advancing to the national-level competition
To inspire innovation and tackle pressing societal challenges, the Department of Student Research and Projects at LPU hosted the Gear Up season-3 hackathon. In which 250 teams had been selected to advance to the internal hackathon stage. It is the event where innovators come together to develop new approaches to solve problems within specific given hours.
As a chief guest of the event, Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro Chancellor of LPU, presented there. Emphasising the importance of this platform for student innovation, Dr. Mittal said this platform invites students to propose novel solutions to real-world problems. The competition is fierce, but even unsuccessful attempts can lead to valuable lessons for future teams.

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a premier nationwide initiative designed to engage students in solving some of the most pressing challenges faced in everyday life. Launched to foster a culture of innovation and practical problem-solving, SIH provides a dynamic platform for students to develop and showcase their creative solutions to real-world problems. By encouraging participants to think critically and innovatively, the hackathon aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. By participating in Gear Up Season 3, students are not only preparing for the SIH but also contributing to a larger vision of creating impactful solutions for society.
In the previous edition of the Smart India Hackathon, LPU team, INNOVORTEX, emerged victorious in the Student Innovation category, specializing in robotics and drones. Also LPU won this hackathon in 2019 and 2021.
