The LPU School of Fashion Design is going to participate in a three-day spectacular ‘Delhi Times Fashion Week 2022’, to be organized till 22nd May in New Delhi. This is one of the oldest and the most prestigious events in the fashion industry where top designers from India and abroad showcase their latest creations. Top designers like Rocky S, Sabyasachi, Ritu Kumar, Guarav Gupta and more are a few of the top designers who have been associated with this show. LPU students are the only students invited to be part of this international fashion event in New Delhi.
The year show is intended to captivate the audience with the abundance of inspiration and creativity that each magnificent collection will bring to the table. Categories to be showcased include apparel, automobile, jewellery, bags, appliances, watches and eye-wear.
Nearly 40 student-designers of LPU will participate with their 35 innovative collections. All the collections are designed and created by the fashion design students under the mentorship of their faculty. Themes that will be showcased by the students include futuristic fashion, chromatic emotion, pleasurable glitch, back to origin, 80s power dressing, pop art and more. Each theme is the representation of the personality and thought process of the designer.
LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Mittal says: “LPU has one of the best fashion design schools that nurture the most creative students from across India. I am proud that LPU’s fashion designers will present their self-created ensembles at Delhi Times Fashion Week 2022 shoulder by shoulder with top designers of India.” Dr Mittal further added: “We at the School of Fashion Design consistently strive to offer a platform to our students to unleash their creative potential. They are provided with hands-on experience and great exposure. This is brought to them through spectacular fashion events like this or with top celebrities and visits by nationally and internationally reputed fashion designers.”
Every year, LPU also celebrates its annual graduating fashion show at the campus itself. LPU also works closely with renowned fashion houses and institutions including those in Italy, France and other fashion dominating countries. In addition, several industry linkages of LPU facilitate on-campus placements for students to make them start their careers in challenging positions with leading national and international companies.
