“Hardwork never goes unrewarded.” The same was proved by many awardees who won awards at the 5th Indian Cine Awards held at Fern Hotel, Goregaon, Mumbai.
One such winner was a team of LPU students whose dauntless efforts were rewarded for Best Screenplay(Jury) in the student category for the short-film, ‘Nazdeekiyan.’ The film was made under the banner of ‘Hocus-Pocus Films.’
The Team:
The team consisted of students coming from different states of India. Their names and their respective roles are: Screenplay Writer Shyamu Poddar from Kolkata, Director Preetham Dev from Bangaluru, Shubham Malakar from Assam, Editor Deepak Kumar from West Bengal, Anish Kumar Kashyap from Chhattisgarh, Cinematographer Vamashi Krishna Reddy from Hyderabad, Hitesh from Karnataka, Production Managers Vikas K Rangeela from Jharkhand and Vikram K Jha from Uttar Pradesh.
What the Film is About:
The film is about a gripping conversation between a grandfather and his grandson. The level of curiousity gets higher and higher as the film proceeds. The film lays emphasis on the value of time in life.
Previous Achievements:
The production Managers have previously been recognised for their abilities at ‘Dada Saheb Film Festival’ for their ad-film, ‘Docomo’
The Reactions:
The Director of the film, Preetham Dev, expressed his joviality on winning the award and thanked the University. LPU Chancellor, Mr. Ashok Mittal congratulated the students for their hard work and success.
