Lovely Professional University was conferred the World Education Award 2016 for ‘Innovation in Open and Distance Learning’ at the Elets 7th World Education Summit at New Delhi. LPU bagged the award in recognition of its efforts in the field of developing high class human resource. During the award ceremony, the keynote address was made by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Sh. Raghubar Das.
The World Education Award bolsters some of the most innovative and impact creating initiatives and interventions in various categories. This Summit is organized by Asia’s premier technology and media research organization-Elets Technomedia. Over the years the World Education Awards have seen top innovations in education, both in private and public sector, get highlighted and recognized at this global platform. This award comes shortly after LPU Distance Education programme was rated among India’s best by Career Connect magazine.
Felicitating the Department of Open and Distance Learning, LPU Chancellor, Mr. Ashok Mittal said, “It is heartening to note that LPU has excelled prominent institutions in such an objective and perceptual survey. However, we will have to continue putting in innovative efforts to meet the emerging needs of the present open and distance learning education system. Awards such as these are not only taking LPU to new heights but also promoting Punjab as the hub of higher education, and India as a global player.” Mr Mittal continued, “In the fast changing education field, our department of Open and Distance Learning keeps on striving to prepare students to distinguish themselves from others. They are readied to enter the competitive career market with the ability to hold their own against every challenge.”
