The article titled ‘In Tune with Technology’ lauds LPU’s new age engineering institute for its experimental curriculum that takes students beyond the classroom.
Prestigious magazine ‘India Today- Aspire’ has ranked LPU among the top ten engineering institutes of the country in its June 2016 issue. The article titled ‘In Tune with Technology – Top Ten Engineering Colleges in India‘ talks about LPU’s new age engineering institute and lauds its experimental curriculum that makes students venture out of classrooms.
When asked about the university and the ranking, staff correspondent of India Today, Ms Karishma Goenka said, “In the attempt to reinvent traditional teaching attitudes, LPU is giving students the opportunity to tailor their course schedules and the freedom to choose how they would like to spend the most valuable period of their lives. It is always imbuing students with a fresh perspective on the world they are about to enter…. LPU has become a familiar name in the education circle. ”
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal responded to the ranking with, “Whenever I see LPU ranked among the best in the country, I feel proud of my team at the university.” Discussing the criterion mentioned in the magazine, Mr Mittal said, “India produces nearly 1.5 million engineers each year which is more than the US and China combined. It is important in such a scenario, to maintain our edge above the rest. LPU has always focused its curriculum towards entrepreneurship and innovation. This is the very reason that has earned us this prestigious ranking.”
Different agencies constantly endeavour to identify “The Best” in a variety of areas important to various professions and their practitioners. Through nominations and consultations with industry leaders, and a special panel of experts, a choice of the best is made. India Today too, in this survey, must have judged universities and colleges on various parameters like infrastructure, faculty, industry interaction, innovative programs, research, placements and more. The resultant ranking indicates that over the last couple of years private universities have emerged in a big way. LPU is riding the crest high.
