As the university is steadily approaching towards the end of another academic year, the students are riding through the highs and lows of preparing for their future endeavours. Renowned motivational speaker and Director of Empower India, Mr Bobby D’souza interacted with LPU students on 20th March 2018. Empower India is an organization that empowers lives through life transformational learning programmes. Mr Bobby has empowered more than twenty thousand people all over the world. Organised by the LPU School of Professional Enhancement, he interacted with students of the university from the department of law, hotel management and engineering on the topic “Painting the life of your picture”.
Mr Bobby stressed the importance of one’s dreams and the various feelings associated with it. Taking examples from his own personal life and how he struggled from a labour on roads to a sales trainer and leadership coach, he advised everyone to live with a thought of optimism and positivity in mind. Elaborating on the point of achieving dreams and becoming successful in life, he said, “I used work on the streets. The streets where people walked away seeing a man muddled in the dust of construction. Now you see me and imagine that a person with so great speaking skills, but then I was just a person who wanted to support his sister and mother.”
Thus he shared a tactical way to accomplish goals and rise from the lows of everyday hurdles. He went around and asked the students about their personal goals and advised them on how they can achieve them.
Mr Bobby D’souza ended the interaction by sharing a powerful experience of teamwork through music and dance that jolted up the motivation in the students. During his entire session, he constantly asked the students to write down their goals, personal beliefs, obstacles etc. which at the end he suggested to put up in a place where they can glance on it everyday. “When you can actually see what you want to do, it’ll remind you of what you want to be. You’ll feel challenged, inspired and looking at that piece of writing everyday will keep your efforts for that goal in check”.
