The second half of the academic year 2016-17 started on an inspirational note at LPU. Renowned U.K based author and motivational speaker Ms. Sidra Jafri visited the campus and interacted with LPU staff and students on the topic ‘Manifesting Your Dreams’.
Ms. Jafri stressed the importance of shifting our focus from a problem to a solution based life. Taking examples from her own personal experiences and those from the day to day life of students and teachers, she advised everyone to live life as per their dreams and time lines. Elaborating on the concept of responsibility, she said, “When something good or bad happens to us we must think that it was to be and it is up to me. Only I am responsible for the things happening around me. Usually we dream about something or make a resolution, but when the external environment does not allow us to achieve the same, we give up. However, one should never give up and keep focusing on the goal envisaged. Talk to yourself and surround your environ with positive words and aspects. The things you focus on, whether good or bad, get expanded manifold.” Thus, she shared three important principles to live life by – be ready to own responsibility, keep hope alive, and stay focused on the positive.
She further pointed out the creation of challenges that keep people stuck and talked the all-powerful tool “Access Body Consciousness”- ‘ABC’ as she called it, that she has developed to deal with them. It not only clears peoples’ issues from their mind but also from their emotions and body. When asked by an MBA (Finance & Marketing) student, Humza Shahid, how to deal with complex situations that leave us feeling alone and empty, Ms Sidra advised, “The good thing about bad times is that they pass one or the other day. You should just let them go.”To another student Adira’s query of “where to find hope”, Ms. Sidra suggested Adira look to herself for the same, and stay confident of being able to accomplish anything.
Ms. Jafri end the interaction by sharing a powerful holistic goal setting technique, “Take a journey into the world of energy and connect with the energetic essence of your dream. As you build this connection, you will be able to sense and let go of other people’s influences on your current dreams. You will be able to let go of anything that doesn’t truly reflect your inner essence, and this is true association with who you are. As the old programming slips away, your dream awakens with a new sense of lightness, inspiration and joy.”
