The three day annual inter-school competitive cultural fest ‘Spectra’ 2016 opened at Lovely Professional University on 12th october 2016. The event is scheduled to hold various competitions in music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts up to 15th October 2015. The competitions are to identify the best cultural talent among the students of different LPU departments.
The fest kicked off with a cultural procession in which various schools of the university participated to showcase their vision of how the environment around us could be saved. Nearly 3000 participating students organized this talent caravan that walked all over the campus. From the Campus Café Ground to the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, participants of various schools marched with powerful slogans and displayed acts and plays to emphasize their message. With banners and slogans in their hands, the students were brightly dressed in uniformly couloured tees to represent their respective schools. Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal and Pro Chancellor Mrs. Rashmi Mittal were there to witness the beginning of the procesion and encourage all the participants.
The cultural procession ended with the start of the cultural fest showcasing the traditional dances of various states of India. Dressed in colourful folk wear, a group from the Division Of Student Affairs, performing the Assamese Bihu dance, kickedd off the event in style. Many folk dances such as Bhangra and Bharatnatyam followed, and the evening came to an end with the anchor for the evening announcing that the results of that SPECTRA evening would be declared later.
It was a happening night on our very happening campus.
