Continuously enhancing global academic strengths, LPU has signed two MoUs with world-renowned Italian art & design Universities- NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) and Domus Academy of Milan for its School of Fashion Design. NABA is the only design school in Italy accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). Home to several successful individuals, NABA has schooled the best talents in the world; whereas, ‘Domus Academy’ is also the most visionary postgraduate design school in Italy. It offers post-graduate and professional courses in fashion, industrial design, and design management. Students of both of these institutions have created a significant name in the fashion and design industry, world-wide, and are pioneering in their respective careers.
MoU signing authority from Italy, Managing Director of NABA Donato Medici shares: “We are very proud to be associated with LPU School of Design (Fashion)- a leader in the education sector. Both the institutions work towards a shared vision of providing students with rich academic experience and a global outlook. These categorized MoUs are drawn as LPU, too, ever intends to lead its design students to global heights of artistic creations. With these collaborations, LPU students of Fashion will now get access to an increased set of international opportunities and global exposure ranging across exchange programs, professional development courses, knowledge sharing forums, collaborative research projects, prominent seminars and conferences. It will indeed prove to be a part of students’ holistic educational development. These associations will indeed entail sharing of global best practices.
Immensely pleased with the compact collaborations; Head, Division of International Affairs at LPU, Aman Mittal informs that the Design School of LPU is considered as one of the best design colleges in India, where cutting-edge labs and equipment simulate the industry environment with practical exposure to the global fashion industry. Its annual graduating show witnesses students’ exuberant ensembles under fashion parades with top models and beauty queens from across the globe.
Head of the Fashion School Bhaskar Mitra shares, “We had devised out the MoUs signing after 11 LPU students of Fashion School visited Italy for three-week summer school, in the mid of 2019, at NABA. Domus Academy was also visited for future collaboration. There, LPU students also got international credits transfer along with a certificate on Fashion Design and styling.”
